The Twilight Sad
After these two shows, they rejected many gig offers, and became a more reclusive unit, spending any spare time they had in the studio focused on writing and sculpting away at new material. In September 2005, they wrote four songs they thought gave a relatively good perspective of the band, and went into a local studio to record them, producing it themselves. Staying in the studio for many nights, they used a 24-track desk to build layer upon layer of sound, trying to get the best representation as possible. Thinking that the CD they came out with showed little more than some kind of raw potential, they posted it down to FatCat as a demo. After receiving a positive response and a request for more tracks, the band continued to expand on their song writing and kept regularly in contact with the label.
Delegate Resigns After Authorities Search Home
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Delegate Robert A. McKee, chairman of the General Assembly's western Maryland delegation, resigned Friday, releasing a statement saying he has "entered treatment" after investigators searched his home during a child pornography investigation. The FBI's cyber crimes unit will help Washington County authorities analyze materials seized from McKee's home near Hagerstown, an FBI spokesman said Friday. "For me, this is deeply embarrassing," McKee said in a statement faxed to news organizations. "It reflects poorly on my service to the community as a state delegate and as executive director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Washington County. Accordingly, I am resigning today from both positions." .
Your Turn: Budget 2008
I have been following Canadian politics a very long time and this has got to be the worst government Canada has ever had. Thank god they are in a minority position and can be held in check. Hopefully the Liberals are going to solve their leadership problem...are you listening Micheal. 2500 cops and all this spending on the military...it's starting to feel like an eastern bloc country around here. By the way! Like every Neo-Con government from the past the tab for all this will eventually come. .

KSM, the Victim
On Monday, some six years after 9/11, military prosecutors filed charges against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, al Qaeda's foreign-operations chief, along with five of his conspirators. They will stand before a military tribunal, and if convicted they could face execution. And as if to prove that the U.S. has lost its seriousness and every sense of proportion, now we are told not that KSM is a killer, but a victim. The victim, supposedly, of President Bush. Opponents of military commissions (including Barack Obama) want KSM & Co. turned over to the regular civilian courts, or at least to military courts-martial; anything else is said to abridge American freedoms. This attitude is either disingenuous or naïve, or both, because it is tenable only by discounting the nature of the attacks and the enemies who carried them out.
