New AD's job: Make Biondi's plan work

Wish Chris May well. The new St. Louis University athletic director has just taken one of the most challenging jobs in this region.

The SLU athletic department is at the crossroads. There are plenty of good things happening . . . but there are also many challenges remaining.

First, the good news:

* The splendid new Chaifetz Arena will open soon and trumpet a new era for Billiken sports. The athletic department will finally have modern offices and the basketball teams will have an on-campus showplace to play in.

* Rick Majerus is working around the clock to elevate SLU basketball to the Next Level. Progress has come slowly this season, but recruiting has gone well and the program has gained a higher national profile.

Harangody emerging as Big East's best big man

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Time after time, Luke Harangody stomped toward the bench press, shoving logic and reason out of his path as he positioned himself below the bar.

With every attempt, the howls in Notre Dame's weight room grew louder. Fighting Irish players huddled around Harangody, playfully prodding their teammate, whose bullishness was wildly entertaining, never mind borderline insane.

Strength and conditioning coach Tony Rolinski, in an effort to simulate the NBA combine, was recording each player's bench-press repetitions at 185 pounds. Harangody aimed to beat his mark from the previous week, but on his first stab, he finished with the same total.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Joel Ortiz Off Aftermath? Is Bow Wow Crazy? Amy ...

Wow Bow doesn't have to do this. He doesn't. He can still make his name Bow Wow again. The rumor is that he got pissed off at Chris Brown and spit on his R&B counterpart. That's word to Omarion! Anyway apparently at a show in Dallas, Wow Bow ended his set off and accused Brown of messing up his set. How? I'm not sure how. Chris Brown is the headliner of the show, but I don't know what he did. Anyway, Wow Bow had to be restrained and out came the spit. I know this is only a rumor, but I have to ask: IS WOW BOW CRAZY?

Now that I got a good laugh out of that, you should know that Wow Bow has stated on the record that this never happened. Chris Brown hasn't issued any denial.

OBAMA HAS A SHOT!

OK, I know one doesn't have anything to do with the other, but I thought I would say this anyway.
